Sydney Zoo in Eastern Creek: tickets and prices
Sydney Zoo sells its tickets on its own website. It is at 700 Great Western Highway, Eastern Creek, and opens 9:00 to 17:00 every day. Parking is free.
The zoo shows a family bundle for two adults and two kids at A$110, as a limited offer. The pages we read did not list single adult or child prices.
Western Sydney zoo tickets
Western Sydney has two parks: Sydney Zoo in Eastern Creek and Featherdale in Doonside. Featherdale charges A$49 for an adult and A$29 for a child aged 3 to 15. Children aged 2 and under go free.
Cheap Sydney zoo tickets and discounts
Buying online is cheaper at two parks. Taronga Zoo costs A$57 for an adult at the gate, or from A$51.30 online. WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo says booking online saves up to 20% on same-day prices.
WILD LIFE is also part of multi-attraction passes with SEA LIFE, Madame Tussauds and Sydney Tower Eye. These passes are valid for up to 60 days, and you book a time slot first.
Taronga Zoo: tickets, ferry and harbour views
Taronga Zoo is the zoo on Sydney Harbour, and the ferry ride is part of the fun. The public ferry from Circular Quay Wharf 4 takes about 12 minutes.
An adult pays A$57 at the gate, or from A$51.30 online. The zoo is open every day of the year, from 9:30. It is cashless, so bring a card.
Some areas may be closed for a while, as the zoo keeps building. Tickets with the return ferry are on our Taronga page.
If you like the boat ride, a longer trip on the water is on our page about Sydney Harbour cruises.

WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo tickets at Darling Harbour
WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is at 1-5 Wheat Road, Darling Harbour, in the city centre. It opens 10:00 to 17:00, with last entry at 16:00. Prices start from A$39 online.
The GetYourGuide ticket is from €24. It includes entry and free photos at the photo stations. The koala photo costs extra.
For a quiet start, the koala breakfast runs Thursday to Saturday. It starts before the zoo opens to everyone else.
Featherdale Wildlife Park in Doonside: where it is and how to book
Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park is at 217 Kildare Road, Doonside, in western Sydney. It opens 8:00 to 17:00 every day, and ticket sales stop at 16:00.
To go on your own, take the train and then bus 729, which the park names on its visit page. Or book the private tour, which picks you up at your hotel.
On that tour, kangaroo feeding and a koala photo can't be booked ahead. You add them on the day, if there is space.
Can you hold or cuddle a koala, and where do you feed kangaroos?
None of the tickets or tours we list say you can hold a koala. What they sell is a close meeting or a photo next to one.
Kangaroo food is included on the Reptile Park day. At Featherdale, feeding can only be added on the day, if there is space.
- Koala meeting with a keeper: the wildlife, waterfalls and wine day, and the Reptile Park day.
- Koala photo, sold extra: WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and Featherdale.
- Koala breakfast: WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, with a take-home photo.
